These festive and beautiful Sparkling Sugared Cranberries make a lovely garnish for just about any meal or holiday decor.
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar + 2 tablespoons, divided
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup cranberries
- 3 tablespoons Sugar in the Raw (or substitute turbinado sugar)
- Place a clean wire cooling rack or a non-stick silicone baking mat on your work surface. Combine 1/4 granulated sugar and water in a small saucepan. Heat over medium-high until the mixture reaches boiling point, then remove from heat and stir cranberries in the syrup. Allow the cranberries to sit in the syrup for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Place a strainer over a bowl and pour out the syrup and cranberries. Place cranberries on your prepared wire rack or baking mat. Stir together the remaining 2 tablespoons granulated sugar and Sugar in the Raw. Place a few berries in the sugar mixture at a time and roll around to coat, placing sugared cranberries back on the rack or mat. Repeat with remaining cranberries. Refrigerate in a covered container for up to 3 days.
