To bread and fry your green chile strips, you’ll need flour, egg, milk and a box of crunchy seasoned breading for chicken (you know, the kind that comes with a bag for you to shake all over your meat, then bake). That’s it! I’ve included a delicious cilantro-lime crema dipping sauce recipe in this post as well. It’s perfectly paired with these Famous Fried Hatch Green Chiles.
I used Hatch green chile that I ordered from The Hatch chile store to make these Famous Fried Hatch Green Chiles. I roasted, peeled and froze most of my chiles whole. Making this recipe really couldn’t be easier, just dip green chile strips in flour, egg wash, and crispy crumbs. Fry for just a few seconds until golden and they’re done!
These deliciously golden fried, crispy-crunchy strips of spicy hot fruit are reminiscent of a jalapeno popper, yet the unique and delicious flavor of Hatch Green Chile is conveyed to your tongue instead with each bite.
The sun-dried corn breading tossed with savory herbs is fried to mouthwatering perfection to coat the soft flesh of each pepper.
