Grilled Meatloaf Burgers give you something new and delicious to grill up this summer.
Have you ever heard of a Meatloaf Burger? These exceptionally delicious tasting burgers mix up the traditional summertime burger routine and make grilling so fun! But what is a meatloaf burger exactly? A Meatloaf burger is a special mixture of spices, ground beef and ground pork held together with a panade (a paste made of bread crumbs, milk and egg). The panade allows you to shape the meatloaf into burger patties that are easy to grill.
You can fix up a Meatloaf Burger just like you would a traditional beef burger, but I have included a ‘special sauce‘ to replace the ketchup, one that really jazzes up the whole burger and will pair better with the Meatloaf taste.
You can make a panade with good old bread crumbs, saltine crackers or even Japanese Panko bread crumbs, as shown above. You will mix this together until it becomes a uniform paste of sorts.
Once the panade is made, mix the ground beef and pork into it until no large chunks of meat remain. Along with holding the ground meats together and adding flavor, the panade also makes these burgers amazingly juicy! Once the meat mixture is ready, I then place it into my handy burger mold. These can easily be made by hand as well. Have fun getting your hands good and dirty!
Grill up the patties just as you would any hamburger patty. I love my Meatloaf Burgers medium well, topped with sauteed mushrooms and french-fried onions. Add in the special Meatloaf Burger Sauce and the flavors are simply amazing!! The french fried onion is soooo crunchy savory and the mushrooms are just perfectly paired with the meatloaf taste. Of course you are welcome to add your own favorite burger toppings just as you would your favorite burger.
This recipe for grilled Meatloaf burgers is a sure winner for summer grilling fun all season. Enjoy!Print
